What you will do

The Piattelli Mendoza Winery is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Here their organic vineyards rely on irrigation from the pure waters melting from the snow-crested peaks. This is a significant aspect of what makes their wines exquisite. From the winery you will enjoy a sweeping view of the vineyards.

They offer the unique experience to learn from the two most successful winemaking regions of Argentina:  Agrelo in Mendoza and Cafayate in Salta.

Caelum is a small constellation that can be seen from the southern hemisphere. In it, the chisel, the sculptor's tool, is represented. Like the chisel for the sculptor, the hands are for us, the tool for making our wines.

After several years of dedication to the production and sale of grapes to neighboring wineries, it was decided to complete the cycle of the vine with the production of high-end wines.

Just 30 minutes from the city of Mendoza, Caelum is located in the heart of Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, one of the most important wine-producing areas in the country. The approximate annual production of the winery is 70,000 bottles, and with passion, the goal is to achieve the highest quality, respecting the environment.

Decero, meaning “from scratch”, was born of a bare patch of land and a family´s love affair with wine. Winemaking in Thomas Schmidheiny´s family went back to his grandparents in Switzerland and, just as Napa had inspired his mother, Adda, in the 1970s, so too did Agrelo capture the heart and mind of Thomas, when travelling over the Andes into Argentina, 20 years later.

They call their philosophy “Amano”, meaning by hand: At every stage we handcraft our wines to be world class, whilst treading lightly in our environment. The interaction of each vine with the soil, the wind, and an east facing aspect towards the gentle morning sun form nuances of structure and flavor which make each parcel of grapes unique. Nurturing each parcel and wine individually, they never shy away from the small yet extra efforts of being hands-on which ultimately yield extraordinary results, giving credence to their “A mano” approach.
