María Teresa Coradi de Barbera is the principle exponent not only to Mendocinian gastronomy but to the very history of the province as well. For years, her kitchens have formed part of the tourists´ itineraries. María Teresa arrived from Italy at age 16 with her mom to escape the war and she integrated herself so much into our province that her opinions are heard by the highest political forces. La Marchigiana was her first great creation with her mom, Fernanda. Years passed, and the restaurant now lies in the hands of her children, but María Teresa didn´t quit the business. Her consistent will to grow and her strong entrepreneurial nature pushed her to open “Francesco,” a restaurant in her own home. Just meters from the Plaza Independencia, in a beautiful house with immense gardens is the restaurant Francesco, named after her husband Francesco Barbera. It is the best expression of high end Italian food in Mendoza where you can see the cooks through the open kitchen making recipes in the style of her grandparents. Francesco Ristorante also features a VIP room, unique wine cellar, and private parking. Francesco is the place to go for a personal experience – for people who want to visit the house and meet the chef, and to lavish in delicious Italian dishes. Passion, creativity, sensibility and love inspire every dish and translates in the details of the flavours, aromas and freshness of the ingredients.
