Restaurante Francis Mallmann

1884 began as a tribute to the wines of Mendoza and Andean cuisine in 1996. The project was started by Dr. Nicolás Catena Zapata and Chef Francis Mallman. The vineyard, "Bodega Escorihuela," which is home to the restaurant, was constructed in 1884 on land in Godoy Cruz, a neighborhood that later became part of the city of Mendoza. Now, the restaurant serves as a historical monument in the middle of a happy city center known for its enormous plantation and canals of andean roots. Today, the land of Escorihuela is also home to the prestigious installations of the vineyard "Caro," which was born from the union of Chateau Laffite lead by the legendary baron, Eric De Rothschild, and Catena Zapata, conducted by Nicólas Catena Zapata who has been the leader of winemaking in Mendoza for the last 25 years.
