The most impressive landscapes of the Andes mountain range that you must not miss on your first visit to Mendoza.
We begin this journey along the international route n ° 7, with the imposing view of the
Potrerillos Dam, which surprises us after touring the
Cacheuta Tunnel.
Our next stop will be
Uspallata. From the southernmost point of the Inca Empire, we headed to the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas and the former
Los Penitentes ski complex.
Further along our route, we’ll come to see
Puente del Inca, a unique natural rock formation that looks like a bridge over Las Cuevas River, it’s still surrounded by thermal springs. A few kilometers from there, located at 2,750 m, is the viewpoint of the colossus of the America´s,
Aconcagua, which with its 6962 m, receives visitors from all over the world who want to reach its summit.9
During the summer months only, it’s possible to drive in the direction of the International Tunnel, to take a small side road which leads to the
Cristo Redentor Monument. This icon, located at 4200 m, symbolizes the union between Argentines and Chileans, and from there you can enjoy one of the fabulous views of the mountain range.
